Selene Vasquez
PRESIDENT
Selene is the mom of Max, a 2-year-old in the Butterfly class. This is their second year at TMS, and they are excited to be part of the community. Selene works as a District Behavior Specialist for CUSD and is passionate about supporting both students and teachers. As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring new places with their two dogs, and visiting family back home in California.

Zachary Spencer
VICE PRESIDENT
Zachary Spencer is excited to be joining the TEMPO board in his second year of being TMS parent. Zachary is married to Maddison Powers, father to two boys, and has two German Shepherds, Indy and Obi. He works at Arizona State University as an Administrative Specialist, facilitating research within ASU’s Global Security Initiative. In his free time, Zachary enjoys doing just about anything that involves animals, sports, film, theatre, or spending time with family and friends.

Kara Karaniuk
SECRETARY
Kara is the mom of Elliot, aged three, and has been part of the TMS community for three years, starting when Elliot was in the NIDO class. She works in research administration at TGen, a genetics research institute in downtown Phoenix. In her free time, Kara enjoys baking, spending time with her family, and playing with their two dogs.

Kieren McCord
TREASURER
Kieren McCord is thrilled to continue on the TEMPO board for her third year as treasurer. Kieren loves cooking, baking, and getting outside to hike or paddleboard with her husband, Taylor. She loves hanging out with her daughter, Ruthie (Ms. Natti’s class) and her new baby Lincoln (Ms. Shanti’s class). She works as a research scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, researching acoustics, indoor environmental quality, and sustainable building design. She looks forward to getting to know more people in the TMS community, so please feel free to come introduce yourself!

Kenna Connelly
MEMBER AT LARGE
Kenna is the mom of Isla, aged four, and is excited to be participating in TEMPO this year as the Member-at-Large. She is a relief printmaker—creating intricately carved stamps from wood—and an illustrator who enjoys both making art and teaching others about the creative process. Her family of three loves spending time outdoors in the garden with their chickens and creating things together. Whether it’s knitting, working with clay, or cooking, they enjoy making things with their hands. The family has been part of the TMS community for a year and is looking forward to the year ahead.
